Edinburgh, Scotland. May 2018. Scott Bain is a passionate home cook, who loves to host friends and family. "My kitchen is a space to escape from life’s stresses and it’s where I’m the boss", says Scott. A few years ago, he fell in love with Japanese knives through a friend. His first purchase was a Saji R2 and then he learnt of the Takeda line. “It scares me how sharp they can be, vegetables just look at them and fall apart! Once you use a proper knife, there is no substitute", says Scott.

Handle materials on the Saji 210mm R2 Damascus Gyuto include: yellow dyed flame birch ferrule, yellow and white fiberboard spacers, gray dyed spalted tamarind spacer, and a blue dyed maple burl funky orange glow resin hybrid body.
Handle materials on the Saji 240mm G3 Ginsan Gyuto include: emerald green dyed maple burl ferrule, rust and white fiberboard spacers, natural sycamore spacer, and a purple urple pearl swirl resin hybrid body.
